HISTORY OF CMCA
CMCA was previously known as PRCC, Park Rynie Cricket Club. 1994 marked the start of an incredible journey of CMCA. The late educator Mr. Luke Moonsamy & Principal Mr. Victor Naidoo approached Coach Clinton Moodley to launch the Bakers Mini-Cricket Program at St. Francis Primary School. The rest is HISTORY, the Bakers Mini-Cricket Program proved to be a roaring success. Coach Moodley went of to be a Districts Mini-Cricket Co-ordinator & featured regularly at the Mini-Cricket Festivals and conferences. The mini-cricket program gave birth to the Park Rynie Cricket Club. Coach Strini Maistry, Coach Clinton, Coach Neil & Coach Kumeshan got the Park Rynie lads ready to participate in league cricket in Umzinto. Park Rynie affiliated a very young side which grew in confidence and eventually won the Umzinto League. Many years of successful cricket was played by PRCC producing many KZN Schools Caps.
Park Rynie Cricket gave opportunity to many young and talented cricketers, they have gone on to play and coach cricket throughout the country. They owe their success to Park Rynie Cricket Club.
During covid cricket coaching was called off. After the ban on contact sports was lifted Coach Clinton established a partnership with Scottburgh Country Club & Chatsworth United. The coaching program was in full swing once again. The Clinton Moodley Cricket Academy (CMCA) was established marking the excellence in coaching. CMCA services were then requested by Scottburgh High School & Woodcrest Academy. Since CMCA took over Scottburgh High Schools Coaching Program, Scottburgh High has not lost a match in two years, a school record. CMCA win record with Chatsworth United has been spotless as well. The 2022/2023 Chatsworth United U11, U13 & U15 sides won their leagues, CMCA players featured prominently and received special awards at the clubs Awards Ceremony held at Kingsmead Durban.
Coach Clinton has done his CSA Level 1 & Level 2 at Kingsmead Durban and completed his CoachEd Level 2 Gary Kirsten Qualification. Additionally Coaches Veronique du Plooy, Robert Miller & Kalay Moodley have all completed the CoachEd Level 2 Qualification.
